Congratulations to the connections of the Seymour Stud, Gunalda owned by Robert and Kirsty Orphant on selling their impressive youngster, Seymour Layne (P) (AI) (ET) at today’s Annual Cream Of The Crop Sale.
Layne (image courtesy Seymour Stud) a yearling daughter of the former RNA Champion, Glenlands Quicksilver (P) (AI) (ET) (Invincible) (pictured) and from a Calioran Emmet/Billabong Vantage dam sold for $10,500 to top that section of the sale and recorded second top price of the sale. Quicksilver progeny will have a strong presence in the Seymour 2021 show team.
A $13,000 sale graduate from the 2012 sale, Quicksilver started his career at stud with the Hinchliffe family, Rockdale Stud, Bouldercombe. Since then he has been sold to Paul Mackay, Ianbrae Stud, Conondale. To his credit Quicksilver already has some 108 registered progeny from the Rockdale, Ianbrae, Waringle and Seymour herds. Quicksilver’s donor dam, ‘8823’ (Farmhand/Eve) produced 11 progeny including five daughters. Along with Quicksilver she produced daughters that are now in the Sommer and Ramardoo studs and we retain a trio of females.
