In the quest for new blood we’ve added a few new sires over the spring of 2020.
Here’s the latest to join the battery of sires that we have at our disposal. He’s Karragarra Quickstep (P) (Image courtesy Karragarra Stud). We selected the 23-month-old, milk tooth for $13,000 at the recent Roma Droughtmaster Sale.
Bred and sourced from the York family, stable, the Karragarra Stud, Emerald he hit the scales at 842kgs, delivered scans of 12/9mm, an EMA measurement of 144cm sq and an IMF reading of 6.3%. He’s a son of one of the leading sires at Karragarra in the form of Matador (Pioneere/I-Spy) and is from a dam by Pistol (Lazarus). This young dam has already produced three in a row including Polo (RSVP Stud) There’s a degree of outcross here as his grand dam carries a wealth of old genetics through the Saddleback, Mimosa, Par-Deux Park, Crusader, Marylands, Serema and Wingfield herds.
Quickstep joins the $42,500 National Sale acquisition, Medway Confidante (P). Bred and secured from the Donaldson stable, the Medway Stud, Bogantungan, this son of Medway Wandoola (Talgai Del/Glenlands Intensive) is from a Master Key (IVF) (Farmhand/Eve) dam and recorded a weight of 736kg at 20-month, fat depth scan of 9/6mm and an EMA recording of 134cm sq at milk tooth level. Also added to the sire ranks is the $160,000 event record breaker from the 2020 National Sale, Rondel Whiskey (P). Catalogued by the Winton based Rondel Stud and operated by the Carrington family, the bull (third image) weighed 836kgs with an EMA of 142cm sq . Whiskey recorded a scan of 14/9mm and an IMF of 4.4%. He’s a son of Wajatryn Knightly and bred the highly performed, Rondel Skittles. Skittles carries two heavy hitting polled grandfathers in Glenlands D Nationality and Glenlands Oath. We introduced the record breaker through a three stud syndicate with the Nindethana and High Country Studs.
